Brave Women Write

Welcome to Brave Women Write and thanks for dropping by.

I’m an activist who is as passionate about river-swimming, nature and the environment as I am about feminism and gender equality. What about you?

I’m committed to writing and sharing the stories that will remake the world for women and Mother Earth.

I wrote Brave Women Write as an invitation to join a movement of women writing women’s stories so together we can rewrite history to include herstory.

Brave Women Write

On facing grief, finding hope and freeing the writer within.

Grief. It’s universal. We all experience it, whether it’s over the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship or the devastating destruction of Mother Earth. We can’t avoid grief and nor would we want to. It’s what makes us better, braver, kinder human beings.

Writing is the most powerful way to face grief and find hope. By freeing the writer within, we free ourselves from the grip grief holds on us. When life becomes dark, writing is the way through.

Brave Women Write is a manifesto for women who yearn to write for both personal and planetary healing and change. I share the stories of my fifteen years as an author and the thirty-three practices I use to get my words onto the page and out into the world.

If you’re committed to healing your hurt, finding your voice and sharing your story, this book will show you how to get started and make writing a practice for life.

Special Launch Offer: $25 + free postage in Australia until 31 December 2022.

This book will energise and inspire you to release your voice and share your stories with vulnerability, heart and hope. As a fledgling writer, I feel encouraged and supported to keep writing. I’m now more committed to picking up my pen again. Thank you!

Brave Women Writers' Group

Start your own writers' group to get your words written and out into the world.

While it was grief that brought me to the page, it was my beloved writers’ group that got me to the finish-line with Brave Women Write. My heart is full of gratitude to Kath Walters, Sandy McDonald, Yamini Naidu and Di Percy for their tough love, constant support and encouragement.

A writer’s life can be a solitary life—but we can’t do it all alone. Writers need other writers to get the work of writing done. That’s why I recommend starting your own group to work through Brave Women Write together.

Scan the QR code on the inside cover of the book to access an intimate interview with our writers’ group on how to start your own group. Plus there’s a one-page guide to download.

Share Brave Women Write with your wannabe writer friends and get started now.

My wish for every writer in the world, is that they find a writers' group like ours.
