On becoming a purpose-driven leader. No need to wait.

The essence of leadership has nothing to do with title and position and everything to do with the desire to serve others and something beyond ourselves, a higher purpose.

William Damon in The Path to Purpose defines purpose well.

Purpose is a stable and generalized intention to accomplish something that is at the same time meaningful to the self and consequential for the world beyond the self.”

There are three elements to this definition; a stable and generalized intention to accomplish something [a path to take and a project to work on], that is meaningful to the self [that really matters to you] and consequential to the world beyond the self [that positively impacts your people, your company, humanity and the planet].

With 70% of the world’s workforce disengaged [and therefore purposeless] at work, we can’t simply leave the activation of this purpose up to the executive team or the official leaders. It’s up to each one of us to become purpose-driven leaders in our daily work so we can collectively help turn this tragic statistic around.

To make this happen you first need the courage and curiosity to learn what purpose really means and what it actually takes to bring it to life, according to the above definition.

Now more than ever, companies need conscious leaders like you to step up, take the initiative and own ‘purpose’.

Ready to find out how to do that? Then join me on Friday 2 December at Abbotsford Convent at the inaugural launch of The Purpose Project. Be one of the first to access the tools you’ll require to become a purpose-driven leader and change the future of work, for everyone.
