Since calling for nominations for stories for Community Rising, I’ve had many conversations with people about what makes their community tick and stick together. Thank you if you’re one of those people I’ve connected with. (Nominations are still open.)
It’s been fascinating to see the list of secret ingredients already emerging from my research. It’s clear there’s a certain alchemy to community when these ingredients are right and I can’t wait to reveal them in the book.
The research continues and I’m still keen to hear your ideas on who should be interviewed.
So, I’d be most grateful for your answer to this question.
Who are the community leaders and/or communities in Australia that inspire you most right now and why?
To be sure, the communities I’m keen to learn about are not the ones with big names and big pulling-power. They’re the grassroots ones that many people won’t know about. You don’t need to be actively involved in them either. They just need to be a community you’ve learnt about that inspires you that is doing great work.
It’s time for community to rise and take its rightful place in the rebuilding of society and the new economy. Thank you for joining me on the journey. If you know of anyone who might be keen to be kept updated on this project, please suggest they subscribe.
